Jeep Renegade History
History
The Renegade launched for 2015 as Jeep's first subcompact crossover, built in Melfi, Italy, on FCA's Small Wide 4x4 platform shared with the Fiat 500X — the brand's first model built outside North America for the US market.
Its boxy, characterful styling and available Trailhawk trim (with Active Drive Low 4x4 and a lift) gave the small Jeep genuine light-off-road ability. North American sales ended after 2023, with the model continuing in other markets.
