Jeep Patriot History

The Patriot debuted for 2007 alongside the first Compass on the same compact platform, but with upright, boxy styling that looked more like a traditional Jeep. It was positioned as an inexpensive entry into the brand.

An available Freedom Drive II package with a low-range CVT mode gave it more off-road credibility than its looks suggested. The Patriot was sold through 2017, when the second-generation Compass effectively replaced both it and the original Compass.
