ICON BR Series History
History
After establishing the FJ Series, Ward expanded ICON's production to the first-generation Ford Bronco (1966–1975), creating the BR Series, which launched in 2011. The BR earned GQ's Car of the Year award in 2011, accelerating the company's profile beyond the Land Cruiser community. Each BR donor is sourced from the 1966–1975 model years and is disassembled, media-blasted, and rebuilt from scratch.
The BR is offered in two distinct philosophies: Old School, which honours the donor vehicle's period-correct aesthetic while adding modern reliability and safety, and New School, which embraces contemporary styling cues, billet aluminium trim, and a more aggressively modernised interior. Both share engineering fundamentals — Fox Racing suspension, Dana high-pinion axles, and a fuel-injected V8 producing approximately 430 hp in the New School specification — with four body configurations: full hard-top, soft-top, half hard-top, and open roadster.

Old School Edition
Introduced in 2018 for ICON's tenth anniversary, the Old School build retains the donor Bronco's period-correct exterior appearance while adding modern reliability and safety — the counterpoint to the original, contemporary-styled New School specification the BR launched with in 2011.
