Hyundai Pony History
History
The Pony (1975–1990) was Hyundai's first mass-produced car and South Korea's first domestically designed automobile, styled by Giorgetto Giugiaro and using Mitsubishi mechanicals.
It was exported widely — notably to Canada — but was never federalized for sale in the United States; the Excel filled that role instead. The original Pony was produced from 1975 to 1990.
