Hennessey Viper Venom 1000 Twin Turbo History

Hennessey began modifying Dodge Vipers in the early-to-mid 1990s, and the Viper became the car that built the company's reputation. The line of escalating Viper packages — branded Venom 600, 700, 800 and beyond — culminated in the Venom 1000 Twin Turbo, introduced on the third-generation (ZB) Viper for 2006. It could be bought either as a complete turnkey car or as an upgrade applied to a customer's own Viper.

The Venom 1000 took the Viper's 8.3-liter V10 and added twin Garrett ball-bearing turbochargers and a front-mounted air-to-air intercooler, lifting output to about 1,000 brake horsepower and 1,100 lb-ft of torque. Hennessey advertised a theoretical maximum production run of 24 cars. The package continued to be offered on later Viper generations alongside Hennessey's other Viper builds before the Viper itself ended production in 2017.
