Edsel Bermuda History

The Bermuda was the premium Edsel station wagon for 1958, a 4-door wagon on the Ford-based 116-inch-wheelbase body distinguished by exterior wood-panel appliques along the bodysides and tailgate — creating what Ford marketing called a 'three-tone' appearance. The woodgrain-trim wagon was a traditional prestige cue in American family cars of the era, evoking the beloved hand-built 'woodie' wagons of the 1940s.

Despite the upscale presentation and six- or nine-passenger configurations, the Bermuda did not find enough buyers to justify continuation. Like the Roundup, it was dropped after 1958 when Ford slimmed the wagon range back to the single Villager nameplate.
