Donkervoort F22 History
History
Announced on 10 December 2022, the F22 marked the most significant departure in Donkervoort's history: the first model designed entirely in-house rather than evolved from the Lotus Seven template. Named after Denis Donkervoort's daughter Filippa, born 22 May 2022, the car used a Formula One-grade carbon-fibre monocoque that doubled the torsional rigidity of the D8 GTO's chassis.
Power came from a 2.48-litre version of the Audi EA855 inline-five turbocharged engine, modified by Donkervoort with a larger turbocharger, higher compression ratio, and revised ECU to produce 500 PS (493 hp) at 6,360 rpm and 640 N·m of torque — all in a car weighing just 750 kg dry. Maximum claimed lateral acceleration reached 2.15 g. A five-speed manual gearbox and Torsen limited-slip differential drove the rear wheels.
Production was initially capped at 50 units, later extended to 75 and ultimately 100 cars due to demand. The removable carbon-fibre Twin Targa roof panel gave the F22 a distinctive open/closed identity. Production concluded in 2025 as Donkervoort transitioned to the P24 RS successor.
