History

The Datsun B210 (Nissan Sunny third generation, chassis code B210) reached North America for the 1973 model year, debuting at an ideal moment: demand for small, fuel-efficient cars surged with the 1973 oil crisis. The B210 offered straightforward reliability and economy in hatchback, sedan, and wagon forms.

North American production of the B210 ran through the 1978 model year before it was replaced by the Datsun 210, itself a precursor to the eventual Nissan Sentra/Pulsar lineup. The B210's timing — arriving just as the fuel crisis hit — made it one of the best-selling Datsuns of the decade.
