History

In 1985, while still producing the revised Crusader, Clan Cars Ltd developed the Clover as a more ambitious successor. Where the Crusader used Hillman Imp running gear mounted at the rear, the Clover adopted a mid-mounted 1.5-litre Alfa Romeo four-cylinder engine in a new glassfibre monocoque body. Around 21 fully-built examples were produced before Clan Cars Ltd closed in 1987, making the Clover one of the rarest production cars to carry the Clan name.
