Chrysler Town & Country (minivan) History

Chrysler revived the Town & Country name for 1990 (introduced in 1989) on a top-trim version of its segment-creating minivan, setting the standard for the luxury minivan with leather, wood-look trim, and full equipment.

Across five minivan generations it was the upscale sibling of the Dodge Caravan/Grand Caravan and Plymouth Voyager, with Stow 'n Go folding seats among the innovations of the later cars. Early generations were built in Fenton, Missouri; the fourth and fifth in Windsor, Ontario.

The Town & Country name was retired after the 2016 model year; its 2017 replacement, the Pacifica, marked the sixth generation of Chrysler minivans. Around the changeover, Chrysler noted it had sold its 12-millionth minivan across all three nameplates.
