Chrysler Pacifica History
History
Launched for the 2017 model year, the Pacifica minivan replaced the Town & Country as Chrysler's people-mover — the sixth generation of Chrysler minivans, reusing the 'Pacifica' name from the brand's 2004–2008 crossover.
Its standout was the Pacifica Hybrid, a plug-in hybrid that went on sale in 2017 as the first plug-in hybrid minivan in the United States — rated by the EPA at 84 MPGe with around 33 miles of electric-only range from its 16-kWh battery.
Built at Windsor Assembly in Ontario, the Pacifica continues Chrysler's long minivan lineage. Stellantis discontinued the Pacifica Hybrid — the plug-in trim — after a brief 2026-model-year run as part of a broader phase-out of its plug-in hybrid programs, while the gasoline Pacifica models continue.
