The Arrizo 8 debuted at the Beijing Auto Show in April 2022 and launched in China in September 2022. Built on Chery's 4.0 Technology Platform, it is the brand's top sedan offering — a mid-size car with turbocharged 1.6-litre engines, a refined cabin, and a price point designed to challenge joint-venture rivals like the Honda Accord in the Chinese market.

The model's commercial success was rapid: annual sales exceeded 147,000 units in 2024, placing it firmly among the top sellers in the A+ family sedan segment in China. Its growth cemented the Arrizo name as a credible mainstream sedan alternative rather than simply a budget offering.
