History

The Wildcat began in 1962 as a sporty sub-series of the Invicta and became its own full-size Buick line for 1963. Positioned between the LeSabre and the Electra, it offered big V8 power and bucket-seat sportiness within Buick's full-size range.

The Wildcat carried Buick's performance-full-size mission through the 1960s before the nameplate was retired after 1970. (Buick later reused the name on a 2022 EV concept.)
