Buick LaCrosse History

The LaCrosse launched for 2005 to replace the Buick Regal and Century as the brand's mainstream large sedan. (Because 'la crosse' is slang in Quebec French, it was sold in Canada as the Buick Allure through 2009.)

Later generations grew more upscale and refined, sharing GM's Epsilon platform and offering V6 and, eventually, mild-hybrid four-cylinder power. The LaCrosse was discontinued in North America after 2019 as Buick exited the sedan market, though it continued in China.
