Buick Encore GX History

The Encore GX arrived for 2020 as a larger, more modern small crossover positioned above (and as the eventual replacement for) the original Buick Encore, which had been a strong-selling subcompact since 2013. Built on GM's VSS-F platform, it is offered with turbocharged three-cylinder power and available all-wheel drive.

It anchored Buick's pivot to an SUV-only North American lineup, and a substantial refresh for 2024 updated its styling and interior technology to match the brand's newer models.
