History
The X1 reached North America for 2013 (E84) as BMW's smallest crossover, initially on a rear-drive-based platform.
Subsequent generations (F48, U11) moved to a front-drive-based architecture shared with the 1/2 Series, broadening BMW's entry-level appeal.
