BMW 2 Series History
History
Introduced for 2014, the 2 Series split the smallest BMW coupe and convertible off from the 1 Series, keeping a rear-drive platform praised by enthusiasts.
The M2 (from 2016) is its halo: a short, powerful, rear-drive M car widely seen as a spiritual successor to the original M cars. A separate front-drive 2 Series Gran Coupe sedan also exists.
