BMW 2002 (02 Series) History
History
Part of the 02 Series (1966–1977), the BMW 2002 (1968–1975) was a light, agile two-door sedan that, with its 2.0-liter engine, defined BMW's 'sporty compact' character and built the brand's reputation in America.
The fuel-injected 2002 tii (1971–1975) and the rare 2002 Turbo (1973–1975, only 1,672 built) are the most prized versions. The 02 Series was succeeded by the first 3 Series, the E21.
