The i3 (global production 2013–2022; US sales from 2014) was BMW's first purpose-built electric car, notable for its carbon-fiber-reinforced-plastic passenger cell and tall, narrow city-car packaging.
It was offered as a pure EV and with an optional small gasoline 'range extender' engine. US sales ended after the 2021 model year. Source note: Wikipedia "BMW i3" — BMW announced June 2021 it would end US i3 sales after MY2021; US production ended July 2021.
