BAIC Beijing EU7 History
History
BAIC launched the Beijing EU7 in China in September 2019 as its mid-size electric executive offering, sitting above the compact EU5 in the EV hierarchy. The EU7 was based on the platform shared with the Beijing U7 (formerly Senova Zhidao/D70) and was powered by a 163-kW (219-hp) electric motor with a claimed NEDC range of 450 km (280 miles).
Positioned against domestic rivals from NIO and BYD in the electric executive segment, the EU7 represented BAIC's ambition to extend electrification beyond entry-level commuter cars. Both the EU5 and EU7 were discontinued in 2025 as BAIC consolidated its passenger EV strategy under the Arcfox premium sub-brand and next-generation Beijing-branded architectures.
