History

Arcfox, BAIC's premium electric sub-brand operated by BAIC BluePark, was established in 2017. The brand made its international debut at the March 2019 Geneva Motor Show with concept vehicles styled by former Volkswagen Group designer Walter de Silva. The first production model, the mid-size Alpha-T SUV, debuted in May 2020 with customer deliveries beginning in August 2020.

The Alpha-T featured a dual-motor all-wheel-drive setup producing up to 435 hp (324 kW) and 720 N·m of torque, paired with a 93.6 kWh battery for a CLTC-rated range of up to 653 km. Subsequent Alpha-T6 variants expanded the range further. The Alpha-T positioned Arcfox against premium Chinese EV rivals like NIO's ES6 and Li Auto's L7 in the growing upper-tier segment.
