Auburn Six History

Alongside its eight- and twelve-cylinder cars, Auburn offered a range of six-cylinder models that served as the marque's lower-priced volume line. They shared the brand's hallmark flamboyant two-tone paint schemes and value-for-money positioning that, under E. L. Cord, briefly made Auburn a sales success in the late 1920s.

The sixes never had the glamour of the Speedster or the Twelve, but they were central to Auburn's business through the boom years before the Depression and the firm's increasingly upmarket, style-led strategy thinned the range and led to the end of car production in 1937.
