Zastava Zastava 10 History

The Zastava 10 was the last new nameplate the company ever introduced. Essentially a rebadged Fiat Punto Mk2b (the facelifted second-generation Punto) produced under licence, it was assembled initially at Fiat's Mirafiori plant in Turin before full production transferred to Kragujevac in June 2007.

Sold exclusively in the Serbian domestic market, the Zastava 10 was powered by a 1.2-liter four-cylinder producing 60 hp — identical in specification to the corresponding Fiat model, distinguished only by Zastava badges. Despite capturing over 10 percent of the Serbian new-car market at launch, sales were slow; only 4,224 examples were built before Zastava's closure in 2008, when Fiat took over the Kragujevac factory and began producing the Fiat Punto Classic there.
