Volvo XC60 History
History
The XC60 launched for the 2008/2009 model year as a compact luxury SUV below the XC90, built on the P3 platform shared with the second-generation S60 and V70. It became Volvo's best-selling global model almost immediately and was one of the first compact SUVs to earn top Euro NCAP safety scores.
A second generation debuted for 2018 on the SPA platform, bringing Volvo's new design language, a portrait-format touchscreen, and a T8 Recharge plug-in-hybrid powertrain. The second-generation XC60 won the 2018 World Car of the Year award, the first Volvo to do so.
