Volvo S90 History
History
Unveiled at the 2016 Detroit Auto Show, the S90 replaced the S80 as Volvo's full-size executive sedan. Built on the new Scalable Product Architecture (SPA) platform, it brought Volvo's 'Thor's Hammer' LED headlights and a clean, minimalist Scandinavian interior to the E-segment.
The S90 is offered with mild-hybrid, and plug-in-hybrid T8 Recharge drivetrains, placing Volvo's flagship squarely in the electrified luxury space. It is assembled in China for global markets.
