Volvo C30 History

Launched for the 2007 model year, the C30 was a three-door premium hatchback on the same Ford-derived P1 platform as the S40 and V50. Its most distinctive feature was a panoramic glass tailgate reminiscent of the 1972 Volvo 1800ES, giving it a design identity distinct from any other car in the segment.

Available with a range of four-cylinder turbocharged engines including a T5, the C30 also offered a battery-electric version — the C30 Electric — in limited European markets from 2011. North American sales ended after the 2012 model year alongside the S40.
