Vandenbrink Fra Mauro History

In July 2009, Vandenbrink announced the Fra Mauro, a jet-fighter-inspired carbon-fibre sports car built on the aluminium tub chassis of the Spyker C8 Spyder. The mid-engine layout retained the Spyker's 4.2-litre Audi V8, positioned behind the driver, while an entirely new carbon-fibre body replaced the Spyker's original coachwork. The design language was sharper and more aerodynamically aggressive than the GTO, reflecting Michiel van den Brink's earlier styling work at Spyker.

Unlike the GTO, the Fra Mauro never entered a confirmed production run. Vandenbrink described it as available on bespoke order and did not announce a fixed build limit. Michiel van den Brink departed the company in April 2010 — only months after the Fra Mauro announcement — leaving his business partner Robert Koumans to manage the project, and no further public deliveries have been documented.
