The Land Cruiser name designated Studebaker's top-line, long-wheelbase sedans, used intermittently from 1934 to 1954. The original 1934 car was a streamlined, fastback-influenced flagship shown at the 1933 Chicago World's Fair, reflecting the era's 'streamline' design fashion.

After World War II the Land Cruiser returned as the premium four-door, riding the longest available wheelbase for extra rear-seat room — a quiet, upscale sedan within the Commander family. The designation was retired after 1954.
