History
Revealed at the 2018 Goodwood Festival of Speed, the Dynamics & Lightweighting Study (DLS) represented a step-change in Singer's technical ambition. Developed in partnership with Williams Advanced Engineering — the performance and technology arm of the Williams Formula 1 team — the DLS took the core Classic Study philosophy and pushed it toward outright motorsport-grade performance.
At its heart is a naturally aspirated 4.0-litre flat-six engineered with input from Hans Mezger, the engineer behind the legendary Porsche 917 and 956 racing engines. The motor produces 500 hp and revs to 9,000 rpm. An all-carbon-fiber body — widened fenders, bespoke aerodynamic surfaces — reduces the car's kerb weight to 990 kg (2,183 lb). Braking is handled by Brembo carbon-ceramic rotors and lightweight monobloc calipers; damping by bespoke EXE-TC units; wheels by BBS Motorsport in 18-inch forged magnesium.
Production is limited to 75 units, built at a dedicated Singer facility on the Williams campus near Oxford, United Kingdom. The DLS is among the most technically advanced restomod 911s ever produced and has commanded auction prices well in excess of $1 million USD.
