Rinspeed Mono Ego History
History
Created to celebrate Rinspeed's 20th anniversary, the Mono Ego was revealed at the 1997 Geneva Motor Show. The single-seater's all-aluminium body kept kerb weight to just 960 kg while housing a supercharged V8 producing 410 hp, enabling a quoted 0–100 km/h time of 4.8 seconds and a top speed of 258 km/h.
The Mono Ego represented a shift for Rinspeed from modified production cars toward fully bespoke concept vehicles with original bodywork — a direction the company would pursue consistently from the mid-1990s onward.
