Rinspeed E-Go Rocket History

Shown at the 1998 Geneva Motor Show, the E-Go Rocket was inspired by land-speed-record cars from the Bonneville Salt Flats. Built in just six months, it used a centrally mounted supercharged aluminium-block V8 producing 410 hp in a lightweight composite body weighing 1,050 kg. Rinspeed quoted 0–100 km/h in 4.8 seconds and a top speed of 260 km/h.

The E-Go Rocket followed the Mono Ego in showcasing Rinspeed's evolving capability to produce fully engineered, driveable concept vehicles rather than static show cars — a hallmark of the company's approach that distinguished it from pure design studios.
