Reva REVA NXR History

Revealed at the September 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show alongside the NXG roadster concept, the REVA NXR was designed as a proper next-generation replacement for the REVAi — a larger, four-seat hatchback with a more contemporary exterior. RECC had partnered with Bannon Automotive to set up an assembly plant in upstate New York to produce the NXR for the US market.

The Mahindra acquisition in May 2010 reorganised the company's product roadmap. Bannon filed a lawsuit against Reva in December 2010; the case was settled in January 2012. The NXR programme was ultimately shelved in favour of the Mahindra-badged e2o, which launched in 2013 as the practical successor to the REVA line, leaving the NXR as an unrealised concept.
