Moretti Paguro History

The Paguro (named after the hermit crab) arrived in 1977 as a logical extension of the Midimaxi concept: Moretti stretched the Fiat 127 floorpan to create a compact pickup truck and a small van variant, useful for tradespeople and small businesses that needed the practicality of a mini-truck with the economy of a 127 drivetrain.

Like all Moretti products of this era, the Paguro was built in very small numbers in Turin, remaining available into the 1980s (its exact final year is not recorded in the standard references). It represents the last significant model line Moretti developed before the final phase of the company, which consisted primarily of variants and special editions based on contemporary Fiat models.
