The Mazda2 reached the US for 2011 as a small, lightweight subcompact hatchback emphasizing low weight and driving enjoyment over outright equipment.
US sales were brief (through 2014); a later Mazda2-based car was sold in the US as the Scion/Toyota iA and Yaris.
