Lagonda Lagonda Virage History

In 1993–94 Aston Martin Works Service produced a tiny run of Lagonda-badged cars based on a stretched Aston Martin Virage platform, marking the last use of the Lagonda name on a production car before a 2008 revival. The four-door saloon used a 12-inch chassis extension (two were built with an 18-inch extension) and was offered with the 5.3-litre V8 (310 hp) or the 6.3-litre V8 (500 hp). Approximately eight or nine saloons were made, six ordered by the Brunei royal family.

A five-door Lagonda Virage Shooting Brake — sometimes badged 'Vacances' — was produced alongside the saloon; one or two were shown publicly, with further examples built for Brunei. Together these cars are the last of the historical Lagonda marque: handmade to order, essentially invisible to the public, and priced around £250,000.
