Chevrolet Volt History
History
The Volt (2011–2019) was a landmark extended-range plug-in hybrid: it drove on electricity until the battery depleted, then ran a gasoline engine as a generator to eliminate range anxiety.
Across two generations it won wide acclaim as a practical bridge between gas and electric cars before GM ended it in 2019 to focus on pure EVs.
