Gasoline engine oil and filterView intervals, applicability and sources
Gasoline engine oil and filter
Exact reference available
Follow the gasoline Oil Life System: change oil and filter as soon as possible within 600 miles of the message, and at least once a year even without a message; reset after every change. If accidentally reset, change within 3,000 miles since the previous change, not a routine 3,000-mile interval. Use Maintenance I when the message occurs within 10 months of purchase or within 10 months after Maintenance II. Use Maintenance II after prior Maintenance I; always use II at 10 months or more since service or if no message appears for one year. Diesel requires its separate supplement. Fuel permission and octane are separate: VIN Z/L59 alone permits E85; none of these documented standard offerings is L59. VIN N/LQ9 specifies 91+ premium and also permits 87+ regular with possible reduced acceleration/light knock. Verify actual VIN and engine before using an engine-specific reference.

Period reference — listed LR4/V, LM7/T and LQ9/N V8 identities only
The own-year GM VIN card supplies the RPO/VIN bridge; the manual engine table lists V, T and N and its replacement table lists the V8 family reference. Verify actual VIN and installed part. The omitted B/L33 identity is excluded from this period branch.

Engine-air filter and optional restriction indicatorView intervals, applicability and sources
Engine-air filter and optional restriction indicator
Sourced interval available
Identify actual indicator and housing. These conditional alternatives do not establish fitted hardware; any catalog reference shown applies only to its stated application; the separately dated current application is limited to the documented LM7/L33 LT selection.

If a restriction indicator is fitted
Inspect at each oil change; replace and reset when black OR in the red/orange change zone. Dusty/dirty operation also requires inspection each oil change. Do not assign the without-indicator fixed service-point branch to this hardware.

If no restriction indicator is fitted
Inspect at Maintenance II and each oil change in dusty/dirty operation. Replace at the first maintenance service after the listed 50,000-, 100,000- and 150,000-mile points; the air-cleaner section specifies the first oil change after each 50,000-mile point. Do not turn this into unconditional routine replacement for all hardware.

Routine owner checks and Maintenance I/II inspectionsView intervals, applicability and sources
Routine owner checks and Maintenance I/II inspections
Sourced interval available
At each fuel fill check oil, coolant and washer levels using the full procedures. Monthly check pressures including spare, secure spare storage and tire wear; high-mileage highway use may need rotation before the oil message. I/II inspections include leaks and brakes; II adds steering/suspension, cooling, wipers, restraints, body lubrication and applicable fluid checks. Separately from the 150,000-mile/five-year cooling service, the manual recommends system/cap pressure testing and exterior radiator/condenser cleaning at least annually. At least each spring flush corrosion/debris from the underbody. The first 100/1,000/6,000-mile wheel-nut instruction is explicitly dual-wheel, not assigned to these single-wheel records. Use the full manual; inspections are not automatic component replacement.

Automatic-transmission annual safety checks
Follow the original starter, automatic shift-lock, ignition/transmission-lock and parking-brake/Park procedures at least annually. Sudden vehicle movement can injure people or damage property; use the complete original warnings and qualified-service handoff, not abbreviated steps. These automatic procedures are not assigned to MG5.

Chassis lubricationView intervals, applicability and sources
Chassis lubrication
Sourced interval available
Lubricate specified chassis components at Maintenance I and II. Severe-commercial operating conditions require regular 3,000-mile lubrication; this is not a universal interval. Ball joints must be at least 10°F component temperature before lubrication, not an ambient-temperature shortcut. The period specification is NLGI No. 2 Category LB or GC-LB; no current product is assigned.

Tire rotation and axle-condition checksView intervals, applicability and sources
Tire rotation and axle-condition checks
Sourced interval available
Rotate at 5,000–8,000 miles and sooner for unusual wear, using the actual installed tire/wheel pattern; also check wear at I/II and monthly. Rear/front axle and transfer-case levels do not need routine checking absent suspected leakage or unusual noise. Have fluid loss inspected/repaired. Follow the full 1500-specific rear-axle and cold/warm front-axle procedures; do not borrow HD fill levels or infer all systems fill to the plug.

Non-Allison automatic transmission service
At the first Maintenance I or II after 100,000 miles for normal service, or after 50,000-, 100,000- and 150,000-mile points for severe service, change automatic fluid/filter. Severe applies if actual GVWR exceeds 8,600 lb OR mainly any listed use: heavy city traffic regularly at an outside temperature of 90°F or higher, hilly/mountainous terrain, frequent trailer towing, taxi/police/delivery. Do not infer actual GVWR or require all uses. The own-year period fluid table specifies DEXRON-VI; no current SKU or exact gearbox model is assigned. Allison has separate conditions and is not inherited.
