Contemporaneous primary sources disagree: Chevrolet Service News, Volume 36, Number 8, September 1964, page 6 explicitly lists L75 with three-speed, four-speed and Powerglide. The September 28, 1964 AMA sheet (1965 kit PDF 50), revised February 1965 table (PDF 31) and March 1, 1965 table (PDF 8) list four-speed and Powerglide only. The month-only Service News date cannot establish publication order within September, a withdrawal date or customer delivery. This retained engine-evidence record does not assert a definite factory transmission; check the car's original records.
