- Chevrolet's 1960 detailed equipment sheet distinguishes RPO 686 heavy-duty brakes from RPO 687 heavy-duty brakes with special steering. The RPO 687 specification gives a 16.3:1 overall steering ratio and 3.25 turns; the engine and gearbox alone do not identify this chassis equipment.
