Chevrolet Cobalt History
History
The Cobalt replaced the Cavalier for 2005 as Chevrolet's compact sedan and coupe, aiming for better refinement against import rivals.
Enthusiasts remember the Cobalt SS — first supercharged, then a turbocharged 260-hp version that was a genuine front-drive performance bargain. The Cobalt was later overshadowed by GM's ignition-switch recall and replaced by the Cruze for 2011.
