Canoo MPDV History

The Multi-Purpose Delivery Vehicle (MPDV) was Canoo's second vehicle, unveiled in December 2020 as a boxy, modular commercial van built on the same skateboard platform. It was pitched on low total cost of ownership for last-mile fleets, with an entry price around $33,000 and a cab-forward, cargo-maximizing shape that drew comparisons to a Lego brick.

Pre-orders opened in January 2021 and limited availability was targeted for 2022, but Canoo's repeated delays, leadership churn, and cash crunch meant the MPDV never reached series production. The program effectively ended with the company's January 2025 Chapter 7 bankruptcy.
