History

Unveiled on 9 April 2015, the Ultima Evolution was a clean-sheet reworking rather than an incremental update. The car grew slightly — 4,000 mm long, 2,560 mm wheelbase — and gained aluminium alloy panelling over its tubular steel spaceframe, with optional carbon-fibre body components. Butterfly doors were retained. The sole transmission remained a Porsche 6-speed manual.

Three LS-based GM small-block V8 variants were offered: a 480 hp LS3 (0–60 in 3.3 s), a 700 hp LS7 (0–60 in 3.0 s), and a 1,020 hp supercharged LS7 (0–60 in 2.5 s). As with the GTR, both a coupe and convertible body were available, and cars could be purchased as component kits or factory-built turnkeys.

The Evolution was superseded from 2021 onward by the Ultima RS, though deliveries and build projects overlapped during the transition.
