History

The Rover 45 arrived in 1999 as a renamed and revised Rover 400, positioned above the 25 as MG Rover's compact family car in saloon and hatchback forms. Its sporting counterpart was the well-received MG ZS.

Like the rest of the Longbridge range it was discontinued in April 2005 when MG Rover entered administration, ending Rover car production.
