Rimac Nevera History

Originally unveiled at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show under the name 'C_Two', the car was renamed the Nevera at its launch — the name taken from the Croatian word for a sudden, powerful storm accompanied by lightning. Production was capped at 150 units worldwide. The first production Nevera was delivered in August 2022 to Formula One champion Nico Rosberg, with over 50 cars delivered by mid-2024.

The Nevera is powered by four permanent-magnet synchronous motors — one at each wheel — drawing from a 120 kWh lithium-manganese-nickel battery pack. Combined output is 1,914 hp (1,427 kW) and 2,360 N·m of torque. Rimac quotes 0–97 km/h in 1.74 seconds and a top speed of 412 km/h, with a WLTP range of 490 km. In May 2023 the car set 23 electric vehicle performance records in a single day, and later posted a Nürburgring Nordschleife lap of 7 minutes 5.298 seconds — the fastest time by any production electric vehicle at that date.

Rimac developed the Nevera's battery management, inverters, and torque-vectoring algorithms entirely in-house, capabilities the company now licenses to other automakers through its Rimac Technology division. The Nevera is built at Rimac's purpose-built campus in Sveta Nedelja, which opened as the Bugatti Rimac joint venture (55 % Rimac Group, 45 % Porsche) came into effect in July 2021.
