The 1992 model year

Overview

The W140 opened its U.S. run for model year 1992 with five sedans: gasoline 300 SE, 400 SE, 500 SEL, and 600 SEL plus the 300 SD turbodiesel documented in the separate North American factory manual. Mercedes-Benz describes the generation as a comfort-first flagship with generous dimensions and double glazing; the 600 models introduced a V12 to series-production Mercedes-Benz passenger cars.
