History
Revealed at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show, the Zerouno ('Zero One') was the inaugural model of Italdesign Automobili Speciali, a daughter company created to build ultra-low-volume collector vehicles. Priced at approximately US $1.69 million each, all five coupé examples sold immediately. The car sat on the Volkswagen Group Modular Sports System Platform shared with the Audi R8 and Lamborghini Huracán, clothed in a bespoke carbon-fibre body designed entirely by Italdesign.
Power came from the same 5.2-litre naturally aspirated V10 used by Audi and Lamborghini, tuned to 602 hp (610 PS) at 8,250 rpm, driving all four wheels through a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox. The claimed top speed exceeded 320 km/h (199 mph) with 0–100 km/h dispatched in 3.2 seconds. Unlike its VW-Group platform relatives, the Zerouno featured wholly unique bodywork and interior detailing.
In 2018 Italdesign presented the Zerouno Duerta, an open-top roadster version with a revised rear deck, again limited to five examples and priced at around €1.5 million each. Both batches sold out, cementing the Automobili Speciali sub-brand's credentials as a low-volume hypercar producer rather than a design-show exercise.
