The 2002 model year
Overview
After a four-year hiatus, the Thunderbird returned for 2002 as a retro-styled two-seat convertible deliberately evoking the 1955–1957 original, including a round 'porthole' available hardtop. Built on a rear-drive platform shared with Lincoln, it was a halo personal-luxury car rather than a volume model.
