The thirteenth-generation F-150 made the landmark switch to a high-strength aluminum-alloy body over a fully boxed high-strength-steel frame for 2015, shedding up to roughly 700 pounds. It broadened the EcoBoost engine range, brought back the Raptor for 2017 with a twin-turbo V6, and set the template for the modern, lightweight, high-tech full-size pickup.
