2026Dodge Charger

The LB-platform Charger launched with the electric two-door Charger Daytona for 2024 and expanded into a multi-energy range. For 2026, the 420-hp R/T and 550-hp Scat Pack use twin-turbo 3.0-liter SIXPACK inline-six power, while the 670-hp Daytona Scat Pack remains electric; all three are offered with two or four doors and standard all-wheel drive.

The 2026 model year

Overview

For 2026 the eighth-generation Charger becomes a complete multi-energy lineup. The gasoline R/T and Scat Pack arrive with 3.0-liter twin-turbo SIXPACK inline-six engines, joining the dual-motor electric Charger Daytona Scat Pack. Every version has standard all-wheel drive and is offered with either two or four doors; the gasoline cars can direct all torque to the rear wheels on demand.

Year over year

What changed

  • Gasoline power returns to the new LB-platform Charger through the 420-hp R/T and 550-hp Scat Pack SIXPACK models.
  • Two-door and four-door body configurations are available across the R/T, Scat Pack, and Daytona Scat Pack range, producing six distinct customer-facing configurations.
  • All-wheel drive is standard; gasoline models add a driver-selectable rear-wheel-drive mode.
  • The 2026 Daytona Scat Pack continues with a 670-hp dual-motor electric powertrain in both body styles.

Worth knowing

Notable

  • R/T: 420 hp, 468 lb-ft, manufacturer-reported 0–60 mph in 4.6 seconds and a 12.9-second quarter-mile.
  • Scat Pack: 550 hp, 531 lb-ft, manufacturer-reported 0–60 mph in 3.9 seconds, a 12.2-second quarter-mile, and a 177-mph top speed.
  • Daytona Scat Pack: 670 hp, 627 lb-ft, and a manufacturer-reported 0–60 mph time of 3.3 seconds.
  • The four-door uses the same hidden-hatch layout, giving the new Charger substantially more cargo flexibility than the outgoing sedan.

Living with it

Reliability & ownership notes

  • This model year and powertrain combination is too new for a meaningful long-term reliability record; early ownership claims should not be treated as established trends.
  • The gasoline SIXPACK and electric Daytona have different factory maintenance requirements. The schedule below separates their applicability rather than presenting one routine for every 2026 Charger.
  • Software, recall, and service-campaign status can change after publication; owners should check the VIN with Dodge or NHTSA rather than relying on a static model-year summary.
