Acura ZDX History

The ZDX was introduced for the 2010 model year as a fastback four-door crossover styled in a manner that predated the market's embrace of the SUV-coupe concept. It was the first vehicle fully designed at Acura's Torrance, California studio. Powered by a 3.7-liter V6 with SH-AWD as standard, the ZDX was praised for its styling but criticized for limited rear-seat headroom and cargo space relative to the MDX. Modest sales led Acura to discontinue it after 2013. The ZDX nameplate was briefly revived for 2024 as Acura's first battery-electric vehicle — built on General Motors' Ultium platform — but Honda ended production in September 2025 after weak sales, cancelling the planned 2026 model year, so the 2025 model year was its last.
